Health of Higgins Lake recieves $40k Grant

We are excited to share that Gerrish Township was one of 19 communities in Michigan to receive a Watershed Council grant from the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE). The grant of $40,000 – the maximum grant amount – will help strengthen water quality protection efforts through the township’s Health of Higgins Lake (HOHL) initiative. Specifically, the grant will support community engagement and cutting-edge data management/analysis to identify and prioritize remediation of failing septic systems.
